What is EBITDA?

EBITDA measures operational profitability by excluding financing, tax, and accounting decisions. It shows cash generating ability from operations. Useful for comparing companies with different capital structures, tax rates, or depreciation policies. Often used in valuation (EV/EBITDA multiples) and debt covenants.
